Scaffold Design Engineer, Trainee Scaffold Designers (Future Opportunity)

Scaffold Design Engineer

We have grown significantly in recent years and now wish to add to our in-house design team. Reporting to the Design Manager you’ll be producing designs and calculations for a range of structures; including access scaffolding, temporary roofs and power line crossings. Previous experience of LUL / Network Rail would be an advantage.

To succeed you’ll have a proven track record in the industry, excellent AutoCAD skills and an ability to work as part of a team to produce innovative solutions. Local weekday accommodation available.

Trainee Scaffold Designers (Future Opportunity)

Working closely with the Design Manager, the Trainee will learn how to produce and amend a wide range of technical drawings; liaising with clients and colleagues alike to ensure each design is safe and fit for purpose.

To succeed you will need excellent communication skills and an eye for detail. Most importantly you must be prepared to learn. In addition to the on-the-job training, you will be expected to follow an appropriate course of study e.g. HNC and/or B.Eng in Civil Engineering, for which an appropriate support package will be provided, including financial assistance and day release.

A valid driving licence is required.

Applications are welcome from all, however candidates able to demonstrate a good knowledge of scaffolding will be at a considerable advantage, as will individuals with experience of AutoCAD. (Previous relevant experience is likely to have been gained from working in a similar role or as a qualified scaffolder).

There is no specific time scale for the recruitment of our next Trainee, but this is currently expected to be towards the end of 2008. If you wish to be considered at our next recruitment exercise, you should apply now by submitting a covering letter and current CV or application form.
